I. Manifesto
We do not photograph bodies. We photograph the evidence of a life lived inside one.
SKIN is a long-form editorial boudoir project shot exclusively in black and white. We keep the stories of a life lived — the stretch marks, the scars, the lines. Our finishing removes distractions, never evidence: a clothing line, a stray hair. Skin honored, never erased. The body is the document; the camera is the witness.
Each sitting is a private collaboration with our all-female creative team — a guided session of light, breath, and trust. The finished frames will be displayed as a digital exhibition. Volume I goes to print when the cast is complete.
II. The Exhibit
A digital gallery. A printed volume. A permanent record.
Selected frames from every session will be curated into an online exhibition — a continuously growing gallery shared with our audience and the press. When the cast is complete, the series goes to print as a hardbound book: SKIN — Volume I.

How the project works
Made to be seen — on your terms.
SKIN is an exhibit, so participation includes a model release for the frames you approve — shared online, in press, and in the book. You always choose which images are shared, and anonymity is genuinely welcomed: masks, silhouettes, cropped fragments, and face-obscured compositions are all part of the work.
Final curation belongs to the creative director, and it happens at the end — the book must hold together as one body of work. Nearly every sitter who releases frames appears in Volume I; the usual reason a beautiful frame waits is that a similar study has already entered the series. Frames not placed in Volume I remain in consideration for future volumes. And the more frames you choose to release, the more the curator has to work with — and the more likely you are to appear in the book.

Exhibit & Book Consideration
Frames you approve for release are curated by creative director Melody Yazdani for the digital exhibit and the SKIN book. Curation happens at the end, so the book holds together as one work — and frames not placed in Volume I remain in consideration for future volumes.
A Signed Artist Print — Included
A 5×7 artist-selected, signed print from your sitting — yours to keep as a memento of the project.
Editorial hair and makeup is not included in any sitting; it is available as an optional add-on at Signature level for an additional fee, on weekday dates only and subject to artist availability. Digital images and additional printed portraits are not included — they are available for purchase separately after your virtual ordering appointment, with your artwork credit applied.

This is our siren song.
We have photographed thousands of women. A decade of work, an internationally recognized portrait house, and a private studio built for one purpose: to document the beauty of the female form — the skin and the bodies we walk through life in.
SKIN is an ode. A love story toward the female form. Someday we will be eighty, and we will be grateful for the body we have now — and maybe, at eighty, still grateful for the body we have then. This series exists so that gratitude has a photograph.

IV. Casting
SKIN is cast by application.
Everyone begins with an application — there is no consultation to book first. Tell us about yourself and the story you want held. The application costs nothing and commits you to nothing — it is the beginning of a conversation. If you're selected, we'll invite you to a complimentary consultation and send a private link with the sitting options and an open calendar. A signed model release is required at every level so your approved frames can enter the exhibit and the book. You choose which frames; anonymity is always an option.

VI. The Studio
Studio 2 is the boudoir house of Melody Yazdani Studios.
Located on historic Mill Street NE in Vienna, Virginia, Studio 2 is a private, intimate space dedicated entirely to boudoir and the female form. It is the dedicated boudoir brand of Melody Yazdani Studios — an award-winning, internationally recognized portrait house with over a decade of work and thousands of women photographed.
Our team is all-female. Our process is fully guided. Every released frame is artfully finished by our retouching team — the goal is never a different body, only the truest version of the one you arrived in. Our standard is that you leave the studio having seen yourself the way the camera sees you: without apology, without rush.
SKIN is our first formal exhibition project devoted to boudoir. We are honored you are here.
